- The Jonah Center for Earth and Art
The Jonah Center for Earth and Art wants to transform the neck of land at the confluence of the Mattabesset and Coginchaug Rivers (the “North End Peninsula”) in Middletown, CT, into an innovative educational facility and a major tourist destination. This property, which now appears to be urban industrial blight, is rich in educational and recreational possibilities.

- University of Michigan - Animal Diversity Web
Animal Diversity Web (ADW) is an online database of animal natural history, distribution, classification, and conservation biology at the University of Michigan. Thousands of species accounts about individual animal species. These may include text, pictures of living animals, photographs and movies of specimens, and/or recordings of sounds.
- Butterflies and Moths of North America
A searchable database of verified butterfly and moth records in the United States and Mexico. This site includes dynamic distribution maps, photographs, species accounts, and species checklists for each county in the United States and each state in Mexico.
- Cornell Lab of Ornithology
The Lab is a nonprofit membership institution whose mission is to interpret and conserve the earth's biological diversity through research, education, and citizen science focused on birds. Its programs work with citizen scientists, government and nongovernment agencies across North America and beyond. It believes that bird enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels can and do make a difference.

FishBase is a relational database with information to cater to different professionals such as research scientists, fisheries managers, zoologists, and many more. FishBase on the web contains practically all fish species known to science.
- USDA PLANTS Database
The PLANTS Database provides standardized information about the vascular plants, mosses, liverworts, hornworts, and lichens of the U.S. and its territories. It contains over 30,000 photos of various plants.
